Facility Security Officer (FSO)

DHPC is looking for a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to be responsible for the day to day execution of our corporate security program at our headquarters facility in Woodbridge, NJ. The FSO is responsible for implementing the security program and ensuring company and customer security requirements are met. The successful candidate will interface with all levels of company personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides.

  • Bring security risks to the attention of the company officials, Team Leads, as identified.
  • The candidate will be required to conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements.
  • Possess the confidence to make critical security decisions concerning high value contracts and to implement security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities or information.
  • Provide clear guidance to company employees and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Experience, Certifications, Clearance, Education, Skills)
This candidate must have experience with the following:
  • EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Employment experience working as a contractor FSO / AFSO or in a government Security office
  • CERTIFICATIONS AND TOOLS: Must have working knowledge ofJPAS/DISS/SWFT/NISS
  • Completion of Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) approved Facility Security Officer Training Curriculum in Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE)
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
  • EDUCATION: BS preferred
  • SKILLS: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and Access).
  • Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision; self-starter
  • Ability to multitask and communicate with several persons at once
  • TRAVEL: minimal, as needed
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: As the primary FSO, the successful candidate will:
  • Maintain JPAS records and Security personnel files for all corporate employees; assist in maintaining records and security files for personnel on various contracts, as required.
  • Maintain various spreadsheets which track new-hires, employee departures, ongoing investigations, re-investigations coming due, special briefings, foreign travel, etc.
  • Work with corporate Human Resources to provide clearance status of new-hire and existing employees.
  • Initiate (re)investigations for new-hire and existing personnel in JPAS, to include (when required) the collection of fingerprints and other documents that may be required.
  • Perform new-hire and annual security training for company personnel
  • Assist in developing and tracking accomplishment of companywide Annual Security Training,
  • Provide initial security briefings to new-hires and debriefings for offboarding personnel
  • Interface with government customers, prime contractor FSO, subcontractors and others as required
  • Interface with our government contractor FSO’s (join user group) and attend training as needed
  • Administer Foreign Travel program, as required
  • Prepare and submit Common Access Card (CAC) requests
  • Submit Visit Authorization Requests (VARs)
  • Accomplish continuing security education
  • Assist in preparing and conducting internal security inspections (self‐inspections)
  • Prepare for and participate in all DCSA security inspections such as Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVA)
  • Other duties as assigned, including various administrative tasks related to office and facility
The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizenand maintain a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance, as a qualification and condition for employment.
