Design Technician Manager

Eastern Catalytics is currently looking to hire a Design Technician Manager.

The primary responsibility of the Design Technician Manager is to participate in and oversee the design of aftermarket exhaust systems components including mufflers, exhaust pipes, catalytic converters and accessories.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Under the direction of the Senior Product Manager, coordinates product offering as developed by design technicians.
  • Maintains overall Tech Lab operations.
  • Trains, and directs all activities performed in the tech center shop and lab.
  • Reviews and evaluates new-product design specifications, product assembly, and component test requirements, ensuring technical accuracy and cost-efficiency.
  • Develops project budgets, schedules, and timetables by analyzing engineering project requirements, area workload, and manpower availability.
  • Monitors projects and ensure that timetables are met.
  • Advises senior management of delays, problems, or changes.
  • Oversees and coordinates the delivery of timely and effective technical support.
  • Resolves operational problems related to program implementation.
  • Key representative in the planning of sample development and manufacturing.
  • Oversees Tech Line Representatives.
  • Communication between internal departments and external field sales and customers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Experience in managing and leading multiple team members.
  • Skills in SolidWorks 3-D solid modeling.
  • General automotive mechanical skills and shop fabrication skills; welding, pipe bending etc.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong conceptual skills, superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and shift focus as dictated by changing business needs.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Fabrication and Design Engineering.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
