Description
Come work with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) where we continue to make Kentucky Proud! KDA perform a wide variety of regulatory functions that serve every Kentuckian every day. This position is located in the Office of State Veterinarian in the Office Support Branch.

Agricultural Program Coordinator job duties will include:
  • Provides educational outreach and assist with administration of programs associated with poultry, deer, stockyards, composting, rendering and animal disease traceability
  • Interpret and implement rules and regulations applicable to assigned program
  • Make recommendations for program management to Branch and Executive staff
  • Assist with Trace Performance Measures (TPM’s) as required by United States Department of Agriculture.
  • Responsible for data entry into the USA Herds.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of administrative or inspection experience in agricultural programs.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Vocational or technical training in agriculture or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting. May make visits to areas where program is enforced.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
