Account Manager

Job Summary:
The Global 360 (G360) Account Manager Assistant Director is responsible for working with the Global Client Service Partner (GCSP), Business Development Leader (BDL) and Business Development Executive (BDE) to drive global account management; sales and program management; and account communications and administration. The Account Manager ensures that all locations and Service Lines of the firm are actively engaged around our largest, most complex global accounts and that we deliver Exceptional Client Service (ECS) in all internal and external encounters. The role manages one or more 360 accounts and works with the GCSP and global account team to achieve the goals for global revenue, margin and sales/pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
Global account management:
  • Drives the key activities of EY’s Account Management Framework (AMF) through use of Account Team Sites
  • Co-develops account strategy with account leadership and drive global execution of account plan
  • Drives service line planning activity and account integration
  • Prepares and facilitates account meetings
  • Responsible for follow-up on account actions by tracking progress against deadlines and driving activity
  • Understands both the clients business agenda and EY services to enable leveraging the global EY network to connect our clients to the right people
  • Develops and manages the account onboarding process and appropriate materials
  • Owns the Assessment of Service Quality (ASQ) process – develop the plan, attend interviews, drive action after interviews and year-end follow-up
  • Act as a project manager for specific account activity
Sales and program management:
  • Manages the annual global revenue planning process with the G360 BDL and GCSP
  • Manages select client relationships (e.g., procurement)
  • Owns and manages the Client Relationship Management (CRM) process
  • Co-develops the account relationship strategy, including management of the global relationship map
  • Manages the account pipeline process and drive discipline across global team
  • Manages the pursuit process for opportunities, working closely with key partners
  • Executes win/loss debriefs
  • Identifies EY thought leadership and insights to be shared with the client
Communication and administration:
  • Serves as a central point of contact for all information related to the account
  • Leverage EY resources to support the account, including:
    • Off-shore Account Coordinator(s) if applicable – pipeline management, financial analysis, sales cycle support, client research, plan management
    • EY Knowledge – Account Analysis, Quarterly earnings call summaries, travel packs on clients business, Account Team Site
    • Finance – Any financial needs of the account
    • Brand, Marketing and Communications – Account specific events, targeted thought leadership
    • Administrative Support – Meeting scheduling and any other administrative tasks
  • Global Sector/Industry – Identify market trends and EY insights
  • Serve as the knowledge steward of the account and with the assistance of EY Knowledge, connect global team to EY tools and client business issues
  • Lead connectivity of Account Managers/Coordinators locally and around the globe sharing best practice across EY account network
To qualify, candidates must have:
  • Deep knowledge of account management processes and tools
  • Effective influencing and relationship building skills with strong executive presence
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including strong command of English
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Leadership, facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong attention to detail and sound organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proactive self-starter with a committed team oriented attitude
  • Industry knowledge e.g., Financial Services beneficial
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong business/commercial acumen
  • Understanding of major industry sector trends preferred
  • Proven ability to work and influence cross-functionally and geographically and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and departments
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven sound judgment and flexibility in balancing multiple project requirements, tight deadlines, and keeping people and projects moving on schedule, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours to prepare materials for clients
  • Ability to travel to the client and other EY offices; depending on the global nature of client, overseas travel maybe required
  • Professional Project Management certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree (emphasis in Marketing or Business preferred) or equivalent relevant experience
  • Approximately 7 or more years of account management or similar relevant experience, ideally gained within a global multinational company
  • Professional Services experience preferred
